Reddit combines web content, social news, forums, and social networks into one giant beast of the platform. Registered members can contribute to the site with content such as images, text, videos, and links. All content on the site is subject to vote or objection by other members.
This theocratic system ensures that interesting content rises to the top and uninteresting content falls into the abyss. As a result, Reddit is the birthplace of most internet memes and viral sensations.

What Is a Subreddit?
This site is made up of hundreds of sub-communities called subreddits. Each subreddit has specific themes such as technology, politics, and music. The Reddit home page, commonly referred to as the front page, consists of the most popular posts from the standard subreddit.
The default list is predefined and contains subreddits such as “Photos”, “Interesting”, “Videos”, “News”, and “Games”. Reddit site members (also known as Redditors) send content so that other members can vote. The goal is to send the displayed content to the top of the website’s home page. Voting for content is done through positive and negative votes. The user clicks the arrow on the left side of the post.
The more votes you agree with a post, the more popular it will be and the higher it will appear on each subreddit or front page. To access your subreddit from the address bar, simply type “reddit.com/r/subredditname”.
